I wrote Moving to Portugal Made Simple, now in its second edition — a guide to actually getting here, covering visas, bureaucracy, banking, property, and where to live. It has more than 450 reviews on Amazon.
I co-wrote German Men Sit Down to Pee and Other Insights Into German Culture, which despite the title was a bestseller in Amazon’s Germany travel and travel humor categories, and has over 650 ratings on Goodreads.
I also run Portugalist, an independent guide to moving to and living in Portugal that I started in 2016 and that’s now read by millions of people a year. It’s been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Forbes, and The Independent, among other places.
Before that I wrote for publications including Baltic Outlook, airBaltic’s inflight magazine, and as a copywriter for Sixt, HotUKDeals, and GoEuro. I spent about a decade in online marketing, mostly SEO, working with British Airways, Hotels.com, Sky, Barclays, and Marks & Spencer, and in-house at Skyscanner.
